I liked most of the book. The idea of soulmates appeals to me, and here the way it happens is fascinating. From the moment they find each other, then how they still need to work on the relationship. I like that it's not perfect. I liked William more than Daniel even though he was dealing with illegal issues, he was still a decent man with his own set of demons and nightmares. He still has integrity, he is loyal and he values loyalty in return. A possessive alpha male, oh yes!

Daniel is a spitfire, quick-witted and is very kind. He is willing to help out others which is how he actually meets William. I liked his dedication to his work and that he didn't allow William to just bankroll everything. I did not like his sometimes childish temper tantrums but I guess him being young can excuse some of them. Otherwise I liked how he was with his guards and how he apologized when it was due. He owned up to his mistakes.
I loved secondary characters a lot. Ueda, Cameron, Tony and all the other bodyguards provided the humorous part of this book. Ken and Demetrius were kind of friendly bridge between William and Daniel when they had difficulties communicating. And during the book many of them found their soulmates which was nice!
The book would have been better if the identities of the villains were unknown, I think too much was revealed in the beginning and the air of mystery was gone. Another part that bothered me was the misspelling. I usually ignore it but when half the book the events take place in Now York and then switch to New York, I take exception to that (I mean was it an alternate world city or not?). Then I really wish more background was provided about soulmates, when and how it started, what year this all was happening but here it's not mentioned and even in the book it states that little is known about it. Well, since author created the concept, I would assume she could have created the background too no matter how fantastical it might sound. I would have enjoyed it.
Mostly it was an enjoyable read and I hope the next book will come out soon!

Delmire Hart is so good at creating full blown characters that you absolutely love! In this world when you're born there is a soulmate somewhere in the world which is your perfect other half. William and Daniel find that they are soulmates but this is no insta-love, they need to work at understanding each other with danger involved in their lives. They are incredibly hot together! Can't wait for her next story!

I think the author completely botched the definition of soul-mate. She took away everything that was pure about it and made it tawdry. IMO a soul-mate it suppose
This book was utterly shallow. It set my nerves on edge with the constant talk about money. I was also annoyed at Daniel's naiveté. He just allowed Will to do as he pleased and chalked it up to the whole soul-mates thing. Even if what was asked of him was unreasonable and merited common sense he just went along with it cos SOUL-MATES!I think the author completely botched the definition of soul-mate. She took away everything that was pure about it and made it tawdry. IMO a soul-mate it suppose to be someone who balances you. Like a Yin and Yang symbol. Bringing light into your dark even if it means bringing dark in to their light.
The author missed the mark by focusing solely on Will's dark. It over-shadowed anything positive Daniel would have brought to the realtionship. Daniel didn't possess the strength it took to be apart of Will's world because he had no back-bone. The author portrayed him as weak-willed and weak-minded. He had no qualities that befitted being mated to someone in the mob.
But what do I know I dnf'd at the beginning of chapter 7, maybe Daniel came the realization that Will was supposed to complete him not consume him but I just couldn't be bothered to skim to the end.

More of a 3 but for kindle unlimited it's a 4. It's well written and pretty hot, but obviously heavily inspired by Viewfinder. I think she could have made an inspired by Viewfinder novel without making it feel like it's a Viewfinder fan-fic just with different names and in a diff country. Like maybe make Danny's profession something other then photographer. My only other complaint was that it felt a little shallow sometimes and some of the dialogue a bit cheesy. I love some fluff so I'm not complaining about that, but maybe if the protagonists didn't seem so cookie cutter. It's hard to explain bc I love a yaoi trope but it has to be done just right. I'm nitpicking a bit bc I really like this author, I think her writing is excellent and her reads are great for destressing. I love fluff with a touch of angst when I'm needing something light to read. But I've read a few other books/novellas by this author that were really good, so I'm hoping I'll be seeing her write more and better. Still an enjoyable read.

I love the concept of this book! That there is a soulmate out there for everyone and Miss Hart takes this wonderful concept and made it great! I always love a story where the people meeting and falling in love comes from too different world. Miss Hart gave the character so much character and depth. I just feel in love with both of them and the rest of her crew in this great book.
I read this story as Finder fanfiction first and I think it worked better. It's almost the exact same fic except with characters names changed and some parts were added to. It worked well as a fanfic because we're more familiar with the characters and their personalities and they were written well. Changing the names made the characters feel flat and their motivations/personalities weren't explained enough to make them fit.

There is this amazing manga series called Finder with a similar premise: a young photojournalist and a handsome older crime lord. The manga is much darker than this book, here it is focus on the romance.

Daniel is always trying to get a scoop; he is an adrenaline junkie and is easily getting into dangerous situations. He doesn't like to be control, is quite independent, strong will, do not care about money & keep escaping William's bodyguards. William is protective (a little bit on the possessive side) but super sweet with Daniel.
The two men do not have much in common and there is also an age gaps of 12 years between them. They still manage to make their relationship work.
The villains are classic one dimensional and doesn't have much depth: there is the jealous bar manager, the corrupted cop, the crooked politician.
I really enjoy this book, the romance was super cute & I love everything soulmate related.
This book had me from page one . The intense story line mixed with the intends passion had me completely focused til the very last line . A must read !!!
